Switch off negative inventory quantities in Pastel Evolution

When you want to deselect the "Allow Negative Inventory Quantities" on Inventory Defaults and the following standard message appears "Some inventory items currently have negative quantity. Please ensure that there are no items in negative in the master file and all warehouses before disallowing negative quantities."

It should then be obvious to check all the items' Quantities on Hand to ensure there are no negative stock quantities. However, the following scenario could make it a bit complex to detect where the source of the problem is:

A warehouse item A has -10 (negative) units in Warehouse XXX and 20 units in Warehouse YYY. It's net result would then be 10 (positive) units when viewing the Item Grid under the Quantity on Hand column and if you have hundreds of items and are not specifically sure which items might have negative stock quantities in any warehouse, the Item Grid Quantity On Hand column values will not help at all.

This will result that unselecting the "Allow Negative Inventory Quantities" will not be possible.

To correct this, do the following:
1. Open SQLEditor or SQL Server Management Studio, then type and run "select * from whsestk"
2. Sort the table according to the WHQtyOnHand field to see any negative quantities in any warehouses
3. Find the correlating WHStockLink values for those negative quantity records.
4. Do a query on the STKITEM table ("select * from stkitem")
5. Sort the table according to StockLink field
6. Identify the relevant StockLink values (the same as the WHStockLink values) and find the correlating field values on the Code and Description columns
7. Within Evolution it would now be easy to identify the relevant Items which have neg. warehouse quantities within Inventory Enquiries to determine the exact warehouses involved, and then process the required stock adjustment transactions for those items per relevant warehouses.
8. After all required processing is done and no negative quantities exist, the "Allow Negative Inventory Quantities" option could be successfully deselected.
